Mountain Hub Community Manager

Part-time, contract position with growth potential.


The Mountain Hub has been open for almost a year in Invermere, BC.

July 2019 will be our one year and in that time was have shown the community the power of collaboration. We have grown a lot in this time with almost 30 members, three full-time office tenants and over 70 events hosted in the space.


And now we are super excited to announce the Mountain Hub is looking for a Community Manager to join the team!

This role will take over the general operations of the Mountain Hub and the perfect person will be excited to make this role their own and fall in love with the Mountain Hub and its mission of connecting small business owners, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and our amazing community.

→ This role is for you if you love the idea of coworking.

You get that social sharing and collaboration is the way of the future and are okay that you might be at the forefront of a movement - meaning you do a lot of teaching and education around coworking, the Mountain Hub and how people can leverage the space to grow their business and feel connected to the community.

→ You are entrepreneurial, creative and love a challenge.

You know that there isn’t just one way to do something and are always looking for that edge to make our systems more effective, members happier, and the business more profitable.

→ You are a people person yet know how to maintain clear boundaries (or are learning).

You understand boundaries help you be an effective community manager that’s neutral, kind, compassionate and clear.

→ You are okay, rather, you thrive on having a whole lot of different things “thrown” at you.

You can operate in an environment where you have constant interruptions and might have to quickly shift focus to a different project or member that you didn’t previously anticipate.

→ You can work the day to day tasks but still have the ability to maintain a high-level, strategic overview of the business.

Your strategic vision helps drive innovation and new programs, events, or other services that help grow the Mountain Hub and help us deliver exceptional service, space, and products to our members and the community at large.


→ You will be working closely with the owner, to help oversee all operations of the business.

This included member payments and billing, vendor relationships, event management, coworking software management.

→ You are a pro with technology and are always eager to learn new software.

You know how to do quick edits to a website, know what G-Suite is, and pride yourself in being in the “know” for all things Apple.

→ You are comfortable with Social Media and traditional marketing.

You may and even wish to grow your expertise under the mentorship and guidance of the Mountain Hub owner.

→ You pride yourself on clear and compassionate communication.

You are available for the members to listen and open to receiving feedback. You are a proficient writer and are comfortable composing and sending out a general newsletter to members.

→ You look forward to the challenge of being the first Mountain Hub employee and know there will be a great deal of “firsts”!

Running a coworking space is a mix between office manager, bookkeeper, landlord, CEO and camp counselor! ;)



Bonus Skills:

  • Have “coworked” before

  • Graphic design background

  • Marketing background



Pay rate and hours

Minimum of 12 hours per week with the potential for this role to become full-time. Pay commensurate with experience.
